Company name
The name must be unique and not too close to an existing company or trademark. It must be fully in English or fully in Irish and end in Limited / LTD (or Teoranta / TEO). Words such as Bank, Group, Holding, University or Charity need extra approval.
Registered office in Ireland
Every Irish company needs a physical Irish address for official post. If you are abroad or want privacy, use one of our Dublin address plans.
At least one director
Directors must be 18+. At least one should live in the EEA. If none do, the company can buy a 2-year non-resident director bond (€25,000 cover) or appoint an EEA-resident nominee director.
Company secretary
A secretary handles statutory admin. A one-director company must appoint a separate secretary, which can be a person or a company. We can help arrange this.
Share capital
Shareholders adopt the constitution, which sets the share capital. The minimum is just €0.01, and you can authorise more shares than you issue.
